For the past several years a person by the name of Alan Moller has been operating an “organisation” called
IATQUO. IATQUO claims to be an independent validation and moderation service for TEFL courses around the world. On the website he lists his organisation next to well established organisations like Trinity College London and
UCLES. But what are the realities of the situation?
First of all it should be pointed out that Mr. Moller was fired from his previous position at Trinity College London. Many within the organisation felt he was incompetent.
And make no mistake about it - IATQUO is exactly one man. He runs his “organisation” out of his wife’s music school, that is when he is not himself teaching private English lessons.
For several years his only client was a group of TEFL schools called TEFL
International. But according to reports from within, Lead Trainers were very unimpressed with Mr. Moller’s knowledge of
ELT. His thoughts were often contradictory and uninsiteful. Finally, it took him ages to complete his reports that had little of interest to say.
According to insiders, TEFL International was already seeing alternatives to Moller and
IATQUO when Moller opened up and self moderated his first TEFL course in Paris.
That’s right, Moller and IATQUO validated and moderated his own center. A picture of his wife and her phone number were even on the website.
To make matters worse, as part of his JOB at IATQUO, Mr. Moller began saying bad things about TEFL International’s course and encouraging people to go to the “other” center moderated by
IATQUO in France.
THIS IS OBVIOUSLY A CONFLICT OF INTEREST. Yet in the mind of Alan Moller and the operation of
IATQUO this is just normal. Beware.
Now a new center has emerged in Barcelona that also seems to be directly linked to
Moller. There seems to be exactly one school that
IATQUO work with that is not directly related to Alan Moller.
How can an organisation (of one man) be legitimate when it only oversees 3 schools in the world, two of them seemingly directly related to the only person in the
organisation?
We feel certain that there are more schools that have been cheated by Alan
Moller. Just Email us more information so we can add it to this site.

HERE are some comments from the CEO of
TEFL International
Dear Sir/Ma’am:
Thank you for your new website. I think more people need to know the truth of this situation.
I can confirm some of what you have posted on your website. I will restrict my comments to matters that directly involve TEFL International.
-
It is true that for several years TEFL International was Mr. Moller’s only client.
-
I was disappointed when I learned that Mr. Moller had opened his own competing school in Paris. And I was shocked that he would disparage our course to benefit his own. When I asked him to clarify he simply refused to respond in a professional manner.
-
Several of the comments on the IATQUO website are grossly inaccurate. All mention of IATQUO was removed from our sites in November 2005.
I have all of the Emails I sent to Mr. Moller and the amazing diatribes I received in response. While I felt the conflict of interest was bad, I felt his unprofessional responses were even worse.
I will be forwarding your url to others who have worked with Mr. Moller. I am sure you will get more details.
